The following is a recently answered question from Answers.com, answered by Florida Bonded Pools (a swimming pool and spa contractor in Jacksonville Florida)…
How many gallons of water does a 8 x 75 foot pool hold?
Answer:
Without knowing the depths of the pool or the shape, this question is difficult to answer. However, if this is a rectangle pool with standard depths of 3′-0″ to 5′-0″ the answer is below the following formula…
The formula is Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.481 = Total Gallons.
8 X 75 = 600 Sq Ft (this is the surface area of the pool) 600 x 4 (average depth) = 2,400 (Total square feet) 2,400 x 7.481 (how many gallons are in a Sq Ft of water) = 17,954.40 Gallons
