Building a Backyard Pool: What to Expect
Pool Construction Overview
When you have reached a decision to move forward with Florida Bonded Pools and made any and all changes to your conceptual pool plan, we then begin the steps necessary to make your dream a reality. There is a lot of careful planning that goes into the construction of your pool with the goal in mind of making this process flow as smooth and stress free as possible. The following steps are a brief overview of what takes place during the construction process.
Step 1: Your conceptual pool plan is placed on your survey for Homeowners Association approval; if applicable. In addition a pool permit package is put together for the local building department. Working drawings “Construction Plans” are completed for your review and site visits are made from our design and construction departments to confirm measurements and to make sure that your Florida Bonded Pool will be an asset that will be a source of great pleasure for years to come. “picture of Ashley making site eval”
Step 2: Construction begins; the first stage is to carefully layout the pool’s overall shape for excavation. Excess dirt is hauled off from site with exception of homeowners request. “picture”
Step 3: Rough plumbing and structural steel bars are placed per plan for overall monolithic integrity. Upon completion the local building department is contacted for inspection and after passing steel inspection the pool is ready for the next phase. “picture”
Step 4: Concrete is applied under extremely high pressure, covering the web of steel bars. After completion of the pool shell forms are stripped and shell is backfilled. “picture”
Step 5: Ceramic tile boarder is installed to make the waterline waterproof and to aesthetically highlight the shape and look of your pool. “picture”
Step 6: Plumbing and setting of the equipment; in this stage the pool plumbing “Schedule 40 PVC” is run underground to the equipment pad where the equipment is set plumbed in and pressure tested and ready for electrical hook-up. “picture”
Step 7: Electrical hook-up of equipment. This is one of the few times we need someone at home for access to the electrical panel. ‘picture”
Step 8: Beautiful and practical, cantilever decking is available in your choice of concrete with acrylic texture, brick pavers, and natural stones. “picture”
Step 9: Pool interior finish is applied, washed to expose the pebble or aggregate and water started to fill your pool. There are a variety of pool finishes to choose from which are best looked at in the water.
